I’m surprised what an engineering challenge it has been. I remember DJB producing 50t articulated haulers in the 80’s with the 550. This is obviously much more sophisticated but not that much of a stretch for an extra 5t surely
The autonomous loader may be fine in some circumstances, but it’s absolutely NOT practical for mining. The downtime of a unit for recharge versus an internal combustion engine in maintenance and downtime will cost more money in the long run. With only an 8 hour runtime a company would require a greater amount of units to just to keep up with operational demand in addition to more facilities for storage and maintenance which in turn would cost more money as well. In addition autonomous vehicles and fully electric vehicles are currently still in their infancy and are nowhere near reliable enough to be practical at this point.

Articulated truck are made to travel challenging terrains. It's why articulated truck will likely not get any bigger since weight is very detrimental on soft ground. The Belaz at 500 tons is just not as capable to travel through anything but very hard ground.
If I needed an articulated dump truck, I would pick a Doosan Moxy/Develon, yesterday, today, tomorrow and all the other day before a Volvo.!
The Bell is a 60 ton articulated hauler as well, produced before Volvo .
Seems a very reasonable price for the product. If I had the money, that beauty would look great in my driveway. CyberTHIS!!
Lets dig 18 needs this
Old mate that's narrating this video needs to know the difference between a "bolt" and a "pin".

Amazing machine. 🎉
At first, I thought ADT just used the rear part of a wheel loader and hooked up a dump bed.
Technically the whole engine gets painted, seems a bit odd. Would think that more parts would be covered before the paint is applied
7:50 that's not a laser scanner. there's no laser.

They are used where needed.
